Why Soft Water does more than just improve the look of your skin

Soft water is known for its numerous benefits, a major one being that it improves the look of your skin. However, to some people, this isn't a particularly compelling selling point. The benefits of soft water on the skin extend far beyond aesthetics, though. In fact, it maintains the overall health of the skin in a really interesting way.

How Hard Water Damages the Skin

Rather than lathering easily with soap, hard water forms a thin, sticky film instead. This film can adhere to the skin, particularly after long periods of exposure. The problem with this is that this film can block the pores of the skin, causing breakouts. It also makes it more difficult for sweat to escape. The situation can become particularly serious if a hard water user has sensitive skin, as hard water has been linked to dry skin conditions and eczema.

How Soft Water Helps the Skin

As you may have surmised, soft water's ability to lather easily with soap prevents the formation of this thin, problematic film in totality. As a consequence, the skin is allowed to thrive without interference. Any skin products you use will be able to function to the fullest, and the skin will be able to get rid of sweat and dead cells without any problems.

This will make the skin look greater than ever before.

The minerals in hard water also cause dryness of the skin, which can be rather uncomfortable and requires you to use more skin moisturisers - meaning spend more money on skin products to keep your skin hydrated. The skin is the body's largest organ. It does a lot more than just shine on the outside. You could get by using hard water, sure. But why risk it in the first place? If you don't mind the aesthetic qualities of your skin, then at least consider the health benefits.
